When installing optical fiber bushing, how to avoid air entering the bushing

During the installation of the fiber sleeve, it is important to prevent air from entering the tube to ensure the stability of the fiber connection point and the quality of signal transmission. The following are some effective measures to prevent air from entering the casing:

First, prepare before heating

Casing selection and inspection: Select high-quality, well-sealed optical fiber casing to ensure that the casing itself has no pores or cracks. Before installation, carefully check whether the casing is intact.

Pretreatment of optical fibers: Ensure that the end surfaces of optical fibers are smooth, clean, and free of impurities and contaminants. After cutting optical fibers, connect them immediately to reduce exposure time and prevent dust or air from sticking.

Second, the heating process control

Uniform heating: When using a heat gun or other heating tool to heat the casing, ensure that it is heated evenly. Avoid local overheating resulting in casing deformation or burning, but also help the casing internal air discharge.

Air removal: During the heating process, gently rotating or shaking the casing helps to remove the air inside the casing. The operation should be gentle to avoid excessive stress on the optical fiber.

Control heating time: According to the material and specifications of the casing, reasonable control of heating time. Too long a heating time may cause the casing to burn or deform, and too short a heating time may not allow the casing to fully shrink and tightly wrap the fiber.

Third, the treatment after heating

Cooling setting: After heating, allow the casing to cool naturally to room temperature. Avoid stress or cracks inside the casing caused by sharp cooling. Do not apply external force to the casing or touch the heat shrink part during cooling.

Check tightness: After cooling, carefully check the tightness of the casing. Ensure that the casing is tightly wrapped around the fiber connection point, and there are no gaps or bubbles. If the seal is found to be poor, repair or replace the casing in time.

Fourth, other precautions

Environment control: During the installation, ensure that the surrounding environment is clean and temperature and humidity are controlled. Avoid operating in dusty or humid environments to reduce the possibility of air and impurities entering the casing.

Operation specifications: Operators should be familiar with the casing installation process and precautions, and operate according to the specifications. Avoid casing damage or air entry due to rough construction or improper operation.
